Misty on the move

By Sanath Weerasuriya

Misty, who started the year with a top note, seems continuing its sound in the arena of music. Misty added a new face to its lineup-Sudath Munaweera joined the band as a guitarist and a vocalist to add more glamour to the outfit.

Sudath is no stranger to the scene. He played with Ultimate, Heat and Phase 3 to name a few. ‘I couldn’t ask for more when well capable guy like Sudath a musician fully loaded with a god gifted voice and a guitarist who can handle the all styles but most of all to blend in and arrange harmony for the band. He has his own self trained voice is a treat to listen’ said Rajitha.

Misty already has signed up for many top occasions in Sri Lanka and abroad. ‘We have another successful year ahead of us. Blled to play some of the premier events in Sri Lanka and hoping to tour US, Canada Australia mid this year’ he added.

In the meantime, Misty has shifted to the Terrace, Mount Lavinia on Thursdays just to give that chill out stuff a dash of Soul, Jazz funk to relax while people wine and dine. And they continued to perform at the Lounge, Cinnamon Grand on Sundays and mid week (Wednesday’s) at Rhythm & Blues.

Misty now comprises Rajitha Rupasinghe ( front line singing), Dennis Alwis (Drums), Sudath Munaweera (vocal/ guitar), Mangala Weerasekara (guitar), Udaya Welikala (keyboards) and Sanjeewa Hettige on bass.
