Funday Times - A Poem for the week

The choir
By Dhanushka De Alwis (12 years), S. Thomas' College, Mt. Lavinia

I remember boys big and small,
Who sang hymns in an echoing hall,
To tunes charming and
pleasant to hear,
That brought delight to the
listener's ear.

The teacher in charge both
guided and led,
The boys in paths we had to tread;
So hard it was, but she did it
with love,
And with all the help and
grace from above.

But now it has come;
has come to the end,
Of the grand five years
in the choir we spend,
How much I learnt
to give of my best,
What a joy it was as
I sang with the rest.
