Shehan a great asset to Navy rugby

Ravi Shehan Jayasuriya, the former Kingswood , Kandy SC, Havelocks and national rugby forward has found a permanent niche in the Sri Lanka Navy rugby team which is emerging as a force to be reckoned with in the coming season.

After a successful season at Kingswood, Shehan won under 19 schools colours in 1996 and pocketed Defense Services colours in 1999.

He was picked as the Best Sri Lankan Player at the International seven-a-side tournament in 2001 and was awarded Navy colours in 2002.

Shehan was a member of the Sri Lanka team at the Commonwealth Games in Manchester, England 2002 and was re-awarded Defence Services colours in 2004 and was in the prestigious National Sporting Honours list in 2008.

His love for rugby has taken him to countries such as India, Thailand, Malaysia, England, Korea, China and Hong Kong.
