Sri Lankan approach to Business and its progress

Business is customer satisfaction. It is a noble profession and having a longstanding historical background based on all the ever lasting religions. It is a meritorious activity to help the common people in their day to day needs, so that business could be recognized as a form of public service.

Business is an effective strategy in identifying the needs and wants of the people and attracts them and cater to their needs and wants. If organizations do so it would be an effective strategy for the long term run of the organization.

As the customer is the unique characteristic of a business organization it has to develop strategies focus ed on customer benefits. Organizations are not efficient in giving the priorities for people's requirements. Generally people do not get any opportunity to purchase whatever they expect. People require right things every time.

Today people are scared of going to hospitals even for treatment. They study in school till 1.30 p.m and at 2.30 p.m they have to go for tuition or tutories as the second session. If the children are satisfied with the morning session there should not be any evening session. Whatever people require they are not in a situation to think of the TQM (Total Quality Management). Our media do not cater to our requirements. Most of our adverts are not customer oriented.

Today the customers have to delight the organization or the sales people. You would experience most of the time that you are unhappy many times after purchases. Generally our housewives are repenting after coming home from the market. The product that the people purchase is not quite capable of satisfying them. The society basically faces this continuous mental depression, so that people are always in a continuous depression. This badly affects their life span too. When people meet each other “discussions on sickness” would be the first item in their agenda.

People are sickly due to the poor quality products and services catered by the organizations. Organizations are applying their business strategies forgetting their main duties of responsibilities towards the society. Majority of the organizations in the industry are money oriented not customer oriented.
