AIT - Doctor of Business Administration Programme in Sri Lanka

Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) the region's leading University is now accepting application for the third batch of their prestigious DBA programme in Sri Lanka in association with ICBT Campus.
Established in Bangkok in 1959, AIT has become a leading regional post graduate institution and is actively working with public and private sector partners throughout the region.

AIT`s mission is to produce qualified and committed professionals who will play leading roles in the economics of the many countries they come from. The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) has been designated by the United Nations as the permanent site of the world's first Regional Centre of Excellence on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), dedicated to the promotion and achievement of MDGs in South-East Asia through education and training.

United Nations Secretary-General H.E. Ban Ki-Moon on March 25 gave his full endorsement for the creation of the ASEAN Regional Center of Excellence on MDGs at AIT in an audio visual remark at an International Stakeholders' meeting titled "ECOSOC's Promotion and Achievement of Millennium Development Goals through Education and Outreach".

ICBT campus was the first institute in Sri Lanka to introduce a foreign MBA with 100% foreign faculty. ICBT in identifying the need to deliver a high quality internationally recognized DBA has been able to develop and launch the AIT DBA considering the need to fill the vacuum in this area of education. It is the first instance in Sri Lanka that a foreign DBA is offered under the international faculty visiting Sri Lanka. The full programme will be conducted in Sri Lanka by a 100% foreign faculty.

The faculty members consist of professors from UK, Australia, US, etc. First year of the programme will be on Theory where the lectures are conducted on selected weekends and students can earn up to 24 credits; the balance 60 credits are linked to the research thesis which the student is expected to complete within the next two to four years. During the research period the students will be guided and supervised by up to 3 foreign professors.

'During the first year the students are summoned to AIT on a familiarization week where they will meet DBA students of diverse nationalities as well as some of the internationally acclaimed business leaders. AIT and ICBT has secured a luxury suite at the Mount Lavinia hotel to conduct lectures and all students will get food and refreshments during the class hours. In addition they will be given privilege membership to Mount Lavinia hotel.

Those eligible to read for the degree are executives from the private sector who carry Masters qualification in management or in a related area and a minimum of five years work experience, of which three years should be managerial work experience, making it a part-time programme. AIT already has two batches of students in Sri Lanka at ICBT Campus currently enrolled for the programme, these students represent some of the best companies and organizations in Sri Lanka.
