Norway asked for it

All praise to the government of Sri Lanka for terminating Norway’s role as a peace facilitator. This was long overdue. For years, the Sri Lankan people have been well aware of the fact that the Norwegians are LTTE sympathisers.

During the so-called ceasefire agreement, the Norwegians took the opportunity to train and equip the LTTE. Following the liberation of Kilinochchi and Mullaitivu, the Norwegians have gone into over-drive to resurrect the dying “Tigers”.

In the recent past, the Norwegians arranged a meeting between the LTTE and the UN in Oslo, and they are leading an international campaign to stop the liberation campaign, painting it as a “humanitarian crisis”.

But what broke the camel’s back was permitting LTTE thugs to attack the Sri Lanka Embassy in Oslo. This was a severe breach of diplomatic protocol, since the host government is responsible for an embassy’s security, and the Norwegian government was fully aware of the threat posed by LTTE thugs.Of course, the Norwegians had not expected the Sri Lanka government to react the way it did.
First, the government sent the Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission (SLMM) packing, and then it terminated Norway’s role as a peace facilitator.

The Norwegians had become accustomed to imposing their will over past Sri Lankan governments. They assumed that because previous administrations had been weak and had kow-towed to foreign imperialists, the current administration would do the same.

No, dear Norway, things have changed. The current government is nationalistic and will liberate the country from the LTTE terrorists. Neither Norway nor any other foreign imperialist will be able to thwart the will of the Sri Lankan people, who want to live in a united Sri Lanka, where all its people can live in peace and harmony.

Since Norway is so sympathetic to the LTTE cause, why don’t the Norwegians set up the mythical state of “Eelam” in their own backyard?
