O/Level results are out, start a top Australian degree now!

Students who just received their O/level results will sit for their A/Level examination in 2011, by the time they get their results it will be January 2012. Statistics say that only 7% of these students will be fortunate enough to get entrance to a local university. The handful of students who do get selected to university will only start their university studies in June 2012.

Mr. Alan Robertson Dean of Monash College Sri Lanka

From the time they sit for the O/level exam, it takes 3 ½ years to get into university. With the Monash University Foundation Year (MUFY) program in Sri Lanka students can get in to university studies with just their O/Level results. If they have a credit average in O/Levels which includes credits for Maths and English they can start prestigious Monash University programs right here in Sri Lanka. Students will study only 1 year of foundation study compared to 3 ½ years of A/Level study. This allows them to start university 2 ½ years ahead of their peers. University Foundation programs have been developed by elite universities especially to assist international students with their transition to university.

University Foundation programs have been delivered globally for over 20 years and are well respected by academics who understand the importance of thorough preparation of students for tertiary study. For many parents this is a new concept and often they are not aware that these internationally recognised programs have such high standing in the top universities in the world. They are not intended to encourage students to drop out of formal secondary schooling early, but to focus students towards the degree and career of their choice.

MUFY is an eight month program designed by the Monash University that prepares students for their desired Australian university destination degree in a variety of areas including Engineering, Business, Information Technology, Medicine, Biosciences, Law, Psychology, Communications and much more.
Students can select from a variety of subjects specifically tailored to lead them to the degree of their choice. Assessment is based on internal performance and examinations set by qualified academics from Monash University Australia and emphasis is placed on steady performance throughout the program. This enables students to acquire the initiative and skills necessary to succeed in a university environment.

Upon successful completion of the MUFY program, students are provided with a guaranteed entry into the prestigious degrees at Monash University. Monash University is ranked internationally amongst the best 50 universities in the world and is in the prestigious Group of Eight (Go8) top universities in Australia. Monash University is acclaimed for its research excellence, quality of teaching and diversity of courses offered. With eight state-of-the art campuses in Australia, Malaysia and South Africa, Monash University is a truly global university with a diverse and multicultural atmosphere.

Students can begin their Monash University degree with the comforts of home at Monash College Sri Lanka. The MUFY program can also be used as an entry qualification when applying to many other top Australian universities hence providing Sri Lankan students with unlimited opportunities to pursue the degree of their dreams in Australia.

MUFY is recognized by the Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) as an Australian year 12 qualification for student visa purposes. Therefore a student after O/Levels can do the MUFY program for 1 year and apply to any top Australian university, saving 2 ½ years of Advanced Level studies and completing their undergraduate degree by 2012.

In joining the MUFY program with O'Level results students are way ahead of the others. The Monash University Foundation Year - a bold step towards making your dream into a reality.
