Water sports expert wins tourism award

Picture shows Mr Weerasinghe receiving the award.

Tilak Weerasinghe, Managing Director of Lankasportrezien, recently received the “Service in Excellence-Exceptional Individual of the Year 2008” at the Second Presidential Awards for Travel and Tourism.

Mr Weerasinghe entered the industry 20 years ago offering water and nature-based activities through his Water Sports Centres at a time when the country was known mostly for ‘sun and sand’ kind of tourism.
