Isham catching up

BATA-The Sunday Times Most Popular School Boy Cricketer 2009

St Peter’s skipper Angelo Perera has a fight in his hands as Zahira skipper Isham Ghouse is closing up when the final count of Coupon 7 the Bata Sunday Times Most Popular Schoolboy cricketer contest ended on February 27. Isham received a whopping 1946 votes to Angelo’s 777 to reduce the lead by more than 1000 votes.

Angelo ended count 7 with 4315 votes while Isham finished on 3184 votes.

The other contestants are way behind but Nishika de Silva of St Joseph’s move up to the third slot replacing Dharmarajah’s Buwaneka Ekanayake who has gone down two places to fifth with Royal skipper Yasitha Abeykoon in fourth place,

Meanwhile in the Outstation and International schools contest Amith Tillekeratne of Sri Rahula Kandy and Malith Silva of Gateway College maintained their lead. There is no change in the second position of the two categories with Sri Sumangala Panadura skipper Niwanka Abeyrathne and Adel Niyas of Gateway College holding on to the slot.
