Kandy looking for another title

Kandy SC topped their group when they scored an emphatic 33-12 win over CR&FC in the last match on day one of the Inter Club Sevens Tournament at Nittawela.

Kandy SC, a virtual Sri Lanka side with the likes of Liyanage, Jayasinghe, Marija, Saliya Kumara, Sheriff, Sajith Saranga and Gayan Weeraratne, were contained briefly by CR, but once they ran in a couple of tries, CR's resistance seemed to crumble. The CH ran up the day's highest (54) in their lop-sided game against Jawatte Lions. They had only one outing. Navy were beaten comprehensively by Kandy SC, but redeemed themselves somewhat with a 38-7 win over Kurunegala RFC.

Air Force won both their games and seem to be in contention. However, the home team seems to carry more powerful guns than those on the Dvoras and the Bell Helicopters. Results
