Angelo reaches four figure mark

St Peter’s skipper Angelo Perera stretched his lead further at the end of the third count of the Bata-Sunday Times All Island Most Popular Schoolboy cricketer contest. Angelo who led the second too with 267 votes received a whopping 949 votes to finish the third count with 1216 votes.

Angelo’s rival Buwaneka Ekanayake of Dharmaraja College Kandy jumped to the second position replacing Dulash Kumarasinghe of St Anthony’s Katugastota who went down to the sixth slot. Buwaneka who was lying fifth last week received 178 votes to finish with 193 votes.

In third place is Royal skipper Yasitha Abeykoon who retains his position having received 77 votes to accumulate 97 votes followed by Nishika de Silva of St Joseph’s and Navin Kavikara of DSS who both retain their positions with 81 and 43 votes respectively.

Meanwhile Amith Tillekeratne of Sri Rahula College Kandy and Malith Silva retained their number one slots in the Outstation and the International schools’ respectively for the third week. Amith who received 37 votes last week added a further 87 to end on 119 votes while Malith who was 62 votes last week received 124 votes to finish on 186 votes.
