Gateway students amongst Edexcel's top ten in the world

 

Gateway students Anjalee Rajadurai, Akmal Fazleen, Nipuni Fernando, Ruvini Silva, Kavindu Diyes and Yashodhara Gunawardane were amongst the top ten worldwide international students according to Edexcel , the UK's largest awarding body.

The results issued last month show that Anjalee Rachel Rajadurai who sat the History exam and Akmal Faleen who sat the Accounting exam in IGCSE at Gateway Kandy International School were among the highest overall marks. Similarly Kavindu Diyes and Yashodhara Gunawardane who sat the Information & Communication Technology exam and Sinhala exam in IGCSE Gateway International School, Colombo were also among the highest overall marks. Nipuni Fernando and Ruvini Silva, Advanced Level students of Gateway International School, Colombo were among the top ten in AL Accounting.

Ross Hall, Edexcel's International Director, said: "This is a tremendous achievement and testament to the hard work students put into preparing for their examinations. We send our congratulations to them." Edexcel a Pearson company, is the UK's largest awarding body offering academic and vocational qualifications and testing to school, colleges, employers and other places of learning in the UK and internationally. In 2007 they delivered 9.6 million exam scripts in over 85 countries, with 4.5 million marked onscreen using the groundbreaking ePan technology.

Their entire vocational portfolio had over one million registrations across 45 countries
