That other modern invention, the Urban Dictionary defines the term "wannabe" as someone who wants to be what they are not. If you're thinking "that's a really good thing!" well, think again. It actually isn't. Wannabes don't look upto someone and say to themselves "Hey, that person is actually quite good, I want to be better." Rather, it's a transformation from who you are and what you like, to a person you completely aren't. I'll give examples of people I've seen in real life to help you understand the concept better.
Wannabe hardcore people are the meek ones who want to appear hardcore. This process of transformation would include saying stuff about death, pretending to like death, blood and gore, talking about dying, listening to music that is considered hardcore etc. The beauty of it? The fakeness shines right through.
Most often a wannabe is lacking in self confidence and looking for guidance, finding it in all the wrong places. But there is another factor which adds to this big time: Poor Little Rich Kid-ism.
Poor Little Rich Kids, or PLRKs are the ones who have a perfect life. Everything is served on a silver platter for them, and life is without worry. For this simple reason, they set out to bring "trouble" and "pain" into their lives, just to make things a little more interesting, because the mundane perfection of life itself, is just too darn boring for them.
Combine being a wannabe with being a PLRK, and hey, you have a lethal combination. It's someone who has all the cushioning they want in life if something goes wrong, but still sets out to be someone they are not. Covered in a thin veil of completely see-through angelic-ness, they set out to find enjoyment in life at the expense of others, and themselves.
Just be yourself.
