Saintly revival

When a group of music lovers from some the country's leading 'Saints' schools got together, the one name that would have obviously been apt for this group would have been Saints – and this is how the newest all male choral group in town were formed.

With their first performance being held last year, this year they will give the music loving public another chance to listen to them while they dish out a wide range of songs when they bring to you, 'Saints' – Renaissance II.

The evening of music will be a presentation of four-part harmony singing, which will feature inspirational and religious songs as well as light classics and songs from the 60's, 70's and 80's. The evening of music will also feature contemporary pop numbers, songs from Broadway musicals, as well as some popular Sinhala songs performed in two-part harmony.

"What we share in common is a love for choral music," says Choir Director, Bosco Fonseka, adding that there will also be performances by the Past Bridgeteens' Choir, as well as by the infamous Denzil and Bosco, a duo who perform duets in the style of the much loved Everly Brothers.

Renaissance II will be held at the British School Auditorium on Sunday October 26 at 7pm. Tickets will be priced at Rs.750 and will be available at Mabroc Trades – Lanka Hands Building, Colombo 4 and at the 'Citibank Building' (Security Desk), Colombo 7. The principal sponsors for the event will be Dialog Telekom while the media sponsors will be Real Radio, The Daily Mirror and The Sunday Times. Part of the proceeds of the show will be presented to Achievers, an organisation that helps differently abled children.
