Secretary, Interim Committee Sri Lanka Tennis Association (SLTA) Maxwell de Silva has stated that from next month it would commence its programme called “Islandwide Tennis Promotion, through free coaching camps”.

A large number of development activities have taken place in the outstations during the last few years by the outstation committee of the SLTA to promote tennis in schools and clubs, one of which is the JICA / SLTA volunteer programme wherein JICA sent two volunteer coaches to promote the game in rural areas. This Outstation Development programme is currently underway in Karandeniya and JICA/SLTA is pleased with the progress made so far.
