Lasallian Junior Basketball from Sep 17
 

Twelve teams are vying for honours at the inter-Lasallian Schools Junior Basketball tournament for 2008 wher the five day tournament is to be worked off at De La Salle College courts in Mutuwal starting on 17th of September.

The tournament involves six schools run by De La Salle Brothers and six other leading basketball playing schools who have been invited to take part in this under-14 tournament that’s bound to attract lot of interest.

The tournament will be played under Nestle Lanka Pvt. Ltd’s brand name of Milo. The participating schools are divided into four groups and the two top teams from each group will qualify for the knockout stages where four quarter-final and two semi-finals will be played.

The grand final is scheduled for the 21st of September at the De La Salle Courts at 5 pm. Hosts De La Salle College are fielding two teams.

Group ‘A’ consists of St. Joseph’s College, Colombo-10, St. Xavier’s College, Mannar and De Mazenod College, Kandana while De La Salle College, ‘B’, St. Anthony’s Boys’ MV, Colombo-13 and Colombo South International are drawn in Group ‘B’. The strong St. Anthony’s College, Wattala are in Group ‘C’ alongside Loyala College, Negombo and Mahanama College, Colombo-3 while Lyceum International School, Nugegoda, St. Benedict’s College, Kotahena and De La Salle College ‘A’ form Group ‘D’.
