Semage’s art and Lankan culture in Japan

Internationally renowned Sri Lankan artist, Kalasuri Jayasiri Semage will exhibit his work in Japan on September 12 and 13 as part of a cultural pageant hosted by the Sri Lankan embassy in Japan.

The pageant which will also showcase Sri Lankan dances, songs and instrumental music will also have a 3.5m high pandal at the entrance, in Semage’s distinctive style using traditional Lankan motifs- lions, punkalas, swans and liyavel motifs, the panels all painted here and then transported to Japan.
