NTB changing with the times

Nations Trust Bank, having recently launched its new brand image, is looking to make banking easier and simpler for its Inner Circle customers, Deputy General Manager -Consumer Banking, Renuka Fernando told The Sunday Times FT.

The bank is changing with the changing times to adapt to the needs of the customers as customer needs have changed. The bank which operates mostly in the Western Province and caters to the mass affluent segment made up of professionals and salaried employees is now looking at making banking simpler and more convenient for the time constrained customers.

Among the new services the bank offers its Inner Circle customers banking ‘at your doorstep’. Explaining how it works, Ms Fernando said that the reasoning behind the concept was to make banking as easy as possible for the customers.

Customers can call the bank and the bank will respond with the service required, whether it be picking up cash from a customer who wants to make a deposit or dropping cash off for a customer who wants to make a withdrawal, Ms. Fernando said, adding that the transactions will not be limited to deposits and withdrawals.

Nations Trust Bank has tied up with Keells Supermarkets to establish Personal Banking Service Centres (PBSC) where the Keells Supermarkets are opened. So far five such centres have been set up and they are in the process of converting mini branches into PBSCs, Ms. Fernando said.

“The idea is for people to be able to do their banking and shopping at the same time and is part of our effort to make banking easier for our customers,” she added. Customers can do virtually any banking transaction at these centres and can even inquire about products and services from the officials there.
According to Ms. Fernando, NTB is investing heavily in their new strategy in an effort to make life easier for their customers. (LP)
