Amunugama appoints leading Japanese gem expert as advisor
 

Enterprise Development and Investment Promotion Minister Dr. Sarath Amunugama has appointed. Kensho Okamoto, a leading entrepreneur in Japan, as Advisor to the Sri Lanka Gems and Jewellery Authority.

Mr Okamoto is a gemmologist turned entrepreneur who has visited Sri Lanka over 30 times. He has authored several books on gems and produced a film on Sri Lankan gems. Mr. Okamoto owns a jewellery shop in the Ginza District of Tokyo, where many of the luxury shopping outlets are located.

Mr Amunugama, in a press release issued by the Board Of Investment, stressed the importance of having sectoral experts, especially those with international marketing and networking skills to advise state institutions.
