Shedding their silence

Shotgun Blues

It's been too long since a good old Rock 'n' Roll gig rumbled the bosom of Colombo, and that's exactly what you can expect next Sunday. It's been two months since Stigmata last shed their silence and due to a brief hiatus between recording their third and highly anticipated new record – the band will join Ritual and Wagon Park and stage a gig that'll make your body and ears ring for a long time after. Shotgun Blues is a gig which is going to be high voltage, powerful and will leave lust bites that will make your neighbors question your sanity: But then you don't have to apologize for having a great time now do you? Shotgun Blues is a fitting theme; and a different one, promising all the musical wizardry and shock factor shenanigans that the committed Heavy Metal community never compromises on. But what's the catch this time you wonder – a blues gig? Why not? Everyone knows that the good old blues laid a good part of the foundation of Rock 'n Roll – it's seductive and sedative, alluring and unapologetic at the same time.

From the Psychedelic Rock of Wagon Park to the killer epic Hard Rock of Ritual, to the visceral epic Prog of Stigmata – expect the unexpected 'cos you'll hear music from the 70's, the 80's and the standard mind crushing anthems that Sri Lankan originality has become renowned for around the world. Ladies and gents prepare to shed your skin and get ready for the double barrel magic of three of the hottest bands right now. No gimmicks, no CD's spun in the name of virtuosity and certainly no limitations. So if your thing is Rock 'n Roll, diverse styles and people who appreciate music that's performed and not mimicked, get yourself down to the venue. Yes…it will be Heavy. Yes…it will be Raw. And Yes…it's going to be unforgettable. Sunday, July 27, 4pm–8pm promises to be nothing but a good time. Tickets are priced at Rs.500/.
