‘Rosa Kele’ opens for the public

‘Rosa Kele’, young filmmaker Sanjaya Nirmal's latest film produced by Dhammika Siriwardena is now being screened at Savoy cinema Wellawatte and other EAP circuit cinemas around the country. Woven around an orphanage and a kind hearted caretaker, the film stars Roshan Ranawaka along with Iranganie Serasinghe, Sanath Gunatillake, Nilanthi Wijesinghe, Chitra Warakagoda, Thanuja Dilhani, Anton Jude, Kumara Thirimadura, Sarath Kothalawela and Thuwan Fazal Buran.

Sanjaya has hired award winning South Indian actress Monica Maruthiraj to play opposite Roshan with a role of a teacher. Maruthiraj is twice Filmfare awarded actress in addition to different roles she had played in more than 35 Indian films. Debuted with ‘Samara’, ‘Rosa Kele’ is the second cinematic venture of young director Sanjaya Nirmal while it is also the second production for Dhammika Siriwardana who started with Udayakantha Warnasuriya's 'Asai Mang Piyambanna' in 2007.

The film revolves around an orphanage run by a wealthy philanthropist in memory of his dead wife. Due to the bad management the orphanage faces a difficult time and this affects the children and discipline of the institution. Disappointed with the development Suriyabandara, the owner of the orphanage decides to close down it. Yet due to the request of his son and mother gives one more chance recruiting a new mistress to the place. And Nimsara a young beautiful girl takes up the post and 'Rosa Kele' shows the dramatic changes that take place in the institution.

Screenplay written by Mahesh Rathsara Maddumarachchi, camera by Jayanath Gunawardena, make up by Indika Udara Lanka and art direction by Welagedara Ranasinghe. Costumes by Rozanne Diasz, melodies for the songs by Rohana Weerasinghe, Bathiya and Santhush and Mahesh Dehipitiya and songs are sung by Uresha Ravihari, Mahesh Dehipitiya and Amila Perera. Bathiya Jayakody directed the musical score.
