Fuel hike hurts companies
Fuel and energy costs are ‘hurting’ the corporate bottom line, cutting profits and showing in the results of a range of Sri Lankan companies, a survey by The Sunday Times FT shows.
 
Stassen Group directors' talks collapse
Negotiations to end the dispute at Milford Exports (Ceylon) Ltd linked to Stassen Group of companies between major shareholder, Harry Jayawardena and the other three founder shareholders have collapsed, according to sources close to both parties.
 
GSP+ talks with EU in Colombo this week
A delegation from the European Union (EU) will visit Sri Lanka this week for discussions on bilateral topics, including the GSP+ trade scheme. “A delegation will arrive in Sri Lanka for Joint Commission meetings from June 9 to 11,” said the Economic and Trade Adviser to the Delegation of the European Commission office in Sri Lanka, Roshan Lyman.
