Ecotourism in Sri Lanka  
Global Ecotourism Conference (GEC) 2007' Organized by the International Ecotourism Society (TIES), Ecotourism Norway, and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) was held in Oslo, Norway last week. Palitha Gurusinghe, the President of Sri Lanka Ecotourism Foundation (SLEF) has been invited by The International Eco tourism Society (TIES) to represent Sri Lanka at this Global Ecotourism Conference.
 
‘Awaiting a sponsor’
Having won the Best Short film at the Short Film Competition conducted by the National Film Corporation (NFC) and getting an offer from a leading film releasing company, ‘Awaiting a Train’, emotional movie on child conscription, made by talented filmmaker Upali Gamlath is awaiting a generous sponsor to get it transferred on 35 mm film.
 
Cannes 2007: World's biggest film fest kicks off
The 60th anniversary of the World's most prestigious film festival Cannes kicked off with Chinese director Wong Kar Wai's 'My Blueberry Nights' last Wednesday May 16. The opening movie kicks off 11 hectic days of networking, deal making and partying among thousands of people from across the industry who descend on Cannes each year.
