CB to reveal bank shareholdings

 
The Central Bank plans to disclose shareholdings of all banks next month in line with its new regulation to limit stakes of both individuals and entities that hold more than 15 percent in a bid to bring about more clarity and transparency to the sector.
 

Katunayake attack threat to economy-JVP

Tiger terrorists possessing the ability to launch attacks using light aircraft is a threat to the country's economy, says JVP Propaganda Secretary and Parliamentarian Wimal Weerawansa. He told the Sunday Times FT that some foreign powers may impose travel restrictions and insurance underwriters might be compelled to impose war risk surcharge on ships operating through Colombo port by using this situation to their advantage.

 

FIAT - oldest car in Lankan car market

FIAT -- the oldest car in Sri Lanka was re-launched this week with a new product in the market with some industry news -- the local car market has a considerable growth potential with 12 out of every 1,000 Sri Lankans owning a car at present against India’s seven per 1000 people.
