Nethsara, Malindu shine in drawn game
Opener Nethsara Yashmitha struck a superb 150 while skipper and right-arm spinner Malindu Dilshan claimed five wickets as Tissa Central, Kalutara dominated proceedings in their drawn 66th Battle of the Mangosteens big match against traditional rivals Kalutara Maha Vidyalaya, which concluded at the De Zoysa Stadium in Moratuwa yesterday.
Nethsara, who resumed unbeaten on 130, added another 20 runs before being dismissed for 150. His splendid knock included 15 boundaries and two sixes as Tissa Central, resuming from their overnight score of 247-6, declared at 275-8. Later, skipper Malindu and left-arm spinner Hashen Imsara shared eight wickets between them to bundle out Kalutara MV for a meagre 69 runs. Asked to follow on, Kalutara MV fared much better in their second innings and ended on 190-6 at close of play.
