Book launch
View(s):Proof beyond a reasonable doubt – Untold story of the medical student’s death by Dr Kasinathan Nadesan (MBBS, MD, MRCPath, FRCPath, FRCPA, DMJ (Path), DMJ(Clin), DLM) will be launched at an event on May 9, from 4-7 pm, at the Renuka Hotel, Colombo 3.
Chief guest at the event will be Justice S Thurairaja, PC, Justice of the Supreme Court, Sri Lanka.
The book revisits the controversial 1994 death of a medical student – a case that shifted from an initial finding of suicide to a highly publicised homicide investigation. Dr Nadesan, the original forensic examiner, presents a meticulous account of the evidence, investigative missteps, and courtroom proceedings that unfolded over decades.
After 28 years, the Supreme Court overturned the convictions, highlighting the dangers of flawed investigations and miscarriages of justice.
This powerful narrative is essential reading for medical, legal, and investigative professionals, and for anyone concerned with truth, justice, and the integrity of forensic practice.
