After more than a decade away from the local stage, global comedy icon Russell Peters is set to make a highly anticipated return to Sri Lanka, promising an evening of sharp wit, cultural humour and crowd-favourite punchlines. The internationally acclaimed comedian will take centre stage on March 31, 2026, at the Lumina Ballroom of Cinnamon Life at City of Dreams, bringing his signature brand of observational comedy back to Colombo audiences.
The one-night-only performance in Sri Lanka is part of Russell’s latest ‘Relax World Tour’, marking his much-awaited return since his last show in Colombo on February 25, 2015. Presented by ‘Ceilão Enterprises’, the show will see Russell Peters once again captivate Sri Lankan audiences with his trademark blend of sharp wit, cross-cultural observations and high-energy storytelling that has earned him a global fan following.
Audiences can look forward to an evening packed with Russell Peters’s trademark humour, as he delivers his hilarious takes on everyday life, family dynamics, travel experiences and cultural quirks, elements that have cemented his reputation as a global comedy icon.
The Colombo show follows a string of performances across India, with stops in New Delhi, Pune, Bangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Shillong and Kolkata, as part of his ongoing ‘Relax World Tour’.

Touted as a landmark night of laughter, spontaneity, and unforgettable moments, the Colombo event is expected to draw a diverse audience, from corporate leaders and professionals to expatriates and comedy enthusiasts from across the island, making it one of the most eagerly anticipated international comedy shows in Sri Lanka this year.

The Canadian born Russell began performing in Toronto in 1989 and won a Gemini Award in 2008. In 2013, he was number three on Forbes’ list of the world’s highest-paid comedians and became the first comedian to get a Netflix stand-up special. He also won the Peabody Award and the International Emmy Award for Best Arts Programming for producing Hip-Hop Evolution (2016).
