Gamer.LK’s Colombo Comic Expo 2025 (CCx) with Munchee Savory as the Platinum Partner and Powered by Coca-Cola concluded recently at the Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Centre, bringing together thousands of fans, creators, artists, cosplayers and gamers from across the island. The two day event once again reaffirmed CCx as Sri Lanka’s definitive home for pop culture, imagination and self-expression.

From the moment the doors opened, CCx transformed the venue into a vibrant space where anime, gaming, comics, film and digital art came together seamlessly. What began years ago as a gathering for niche communities has grown into a true homecoming for Sri Lanka’s creative youth, where passion is celebrated and individuality is embraced.

The Cosplay Ramp Walk once again emerged as the emotional and visual centrepiece of the Expo. Over 300 cosplayers took to the stage, each showcasing months of dedication, craftsmanship and creative courage. From intricately built armour and detailed needlework to bold original designs and expressive performances, the ramp walk highlighted cosplay as more than competition. It stood as a powerful form of storytelling and identity.

Methul Manathunga, crowned Best Overall Cosplay as Springtrap from Five Nights at Freddy’s 3, shared ‘I never imagined standing here one day. CCx gave me the confidence to believe in my creativity and push myself further. CCx feels like coming home. No matter how different we all are, this is a space where everyone belongs. Having the support of my mother from beginning to end, alongside a community that uplifts one another, makes this experience incredibly special’

Other award recipients included Sathsara Panchali as Jinx for Best Make Up, Nethanga Manathunga as Cyan loong for Best Craftsmanship in Special Effects, Ushneya Manuelge as Divination Spawn for Best Craftsmanship in Needlework, Mewan Ranasekera as Eren Yeger for Best Anime Cosplay, Chamiththa Vishwa as Yaksha King  for Best Gaming Cosplay, Ashini Jayasinghe as Forest Fairy for Best Original Cosplay, Sajith Kandanarachchi  as Invincible for Best Cosplay Performance and Aishwarya Tennekoon as Sun Wukong for Best Craftsmanship in Armor.

Beyond the stage, the Artist Alley remained one of the standout attractions of CCx. Over 60 local artistes and illustrators showcased original artwork, prints, collectibles and fandom inspired merchandise, drawing steady crowds throughout the event.
