Law College Batch of 1985 get together

The Alumni of the Law College Batch of 1985 held an event at the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel to celebrate 37 years at the bar and 40 years of friendship. The gathering drew 150 members. A virtual meeting via Zoom, enabled alumni from across the globe to participate.
The batch of ‘85 includes several distinguished members of the legal profession. They have made a record of having the most number of Supreme Court judges from a single batch. It has a number of presidents counsels, corporate leaders and others who have served in senior positions in both the public and private sectors.
Member of the Class of ‘85, Justice S Turairajah was appointed a member of the judicial service commission and the acting Chief Justice.
Six members of the batch – Justice Mahanil Prashantha Silva, Justice Ahsan Marikar, Dr Dayani Panagoda, Geethanjali Ranawaka, Sonali Wijekoon and Anusha Muthukumarana were also felicitated for their service in their relevant fields.
Participants expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to reconnect and reaffirmed their commitment to continuing this tradition in the years to come.

The organising committee comprising Daphne Vissundara, Visaka Wimaladharma, Mahinda Lokuge, Nishani Lokuge, Chandana Liyanapatabendi, Madhu Jayathilake and Nandasiri Yapa was
commended for its meticulous planning and attention to detail.
