A delegation of Sri Lankan female-led tech entrepreneurs participated in GITEX Global & Expand Northstar 2025, one of the world’s most prestigious technology and investment platforms, held in Dubai on October 12-17, 2025.

Organised by the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) in collaboration with the Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Dubai, the Technical Exposure Programme brought together four female-led SMEs, two large-scale technology companies, and an EDB representative to the global stage, the EDB said in a media release.

The delegation.

GITEX Global & Expand Northstar 2025 attracted over 200,000 attendees, 6,000 exhibitors, and participants from more than 180 countries, featuring 24 conference streams covering cutting-edge technology themes including Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Future Mobility, Sustainability, and the Metaverse.  Beyond the main exhibitions, the Sri Lankan delegation actively engaged in multiple high-level networking events, including receptions hosted by the Pakistan Embassy, India’s Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC), and the Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Dubai.

The delegation also participated in Dubai-based start-up incubator programmes, held strategic business meetings with potential partners, and attended knowledge-sharing sessions organised by the She Trades Hub of the UAE.

The programme aimed to provide international exposure for female-led enterprises, facilitate investor matchmaking, and connect participants with global mentorship networks. This initiative forms part of EDB’s New Exporter Development Programme (NEDP), designed to strengthen Sri Lanka’s technology sector presence in international markets.
