Taylor Swift Breaks More Records with The Life of a Showgirl

Taylor Swift has set new records with her new album, which scored a double this week, thanks to her new album The Life Of A Showgirl. Swift’s album swept to the No.1 position on the albums chart. Simultaneously on the singles front, the album’s lead single, The Fate Of Ophelia, debuted at the No.1 position. On the UK albums front, this is the third occasion Swift has had a chart-topping album this year, following Lover (Live From Paris) and The Tortured Poet’s Department. Meanwhile, the new album’s lead single The Fate Of Ophelia debuted at the No.1 position. It is her biggest No.1 song for an opening week, with 132,000 units. Swift co-penned and co-produced the dance-pop/synth-pop track with the Swedish duo Max Martin and Shellback. Additionally, Swift secured the No. 2 slot with Opalite and Elizabeth Taylor largely due to streaming and downloads, though not official releases. The 35-year-old US artist has secured 33 Top 10 hit songs on the UK chart. Her first was Love Story, which peaked at No.2 in 2008. Taylor Swift achieved her first UK chart-topping song, Look What You Made Me Do, in 2016. Swift has scored five No.1 songs on the UK chart thus far. Meanwhile, at a global level, Taylor’s 12th album has moved a record 5.5 million units.
