Chitra Lane art exhibition: A joyous celebration of creativity
View(s):The Art and Craft Exhibition of the Chitra Lane School for the Special Child and the Chitra Lane Children’s Resource Centre was held on Friday, September 26, transforming the school gymnasium into a joyous celebration of creativity and inclusion.
The exhibition showcased a captivating array of paintings, drawings, hand-crafted items, and decorative pieces, lovingly created by the children over the past several months. Every work was a window into the imagination, perseverance, and determination of the students. The colours, textures, and forms reflected the unique ability of children with special needs to communicate powerfully without words.

The morning was also an immersive experience for children, teens, and families. Interactive stalls invited visitors to step into the world of the young artists. Visitors not only admired the art but also enjoyed the array of embroidered purses, tote bags, greeting cards, painted trays and mouthwatering treats like patties and butter cake prepared by the children.
More than an exhibition, the event was a bridge between communities – a space where children from mainstream schools and families engaged meaningfully with peers from Chitra Lane. It was a reminder of how art has the power to bring people together, fostering understanding, inclusion and joy.
