Prof. Ediriweera Sarathchandra’s ever popular stylish play “Sinhabahu” will go on the boards at 3.30 p.m. and 6.45 p.m. Namel Malini Punchi Theatre in Borella on October 12.

Staged for the first time at the open air theatre of the Peradeniya University in September 1961, Sinhabahu followed Prof. Sarachchandra’s 1956 masterpiece ‘Maname’, which he described as the final product of a research he had carried out to discover a mode of drama most appropriate for the aesthetic sensibility of the Lankan playgoers.

Both Sinhabahu and Maname reflected his familiarity with Eastern –Chinese, Indian, and Japanese) and Western-Classical Greek, English, French, Norwegian, Russian, etc dramatic
traditions.

All seats are box planned and online tickets are available via myseat.lk and at the theatre gate. These special shows are organised by Jude Srimal.
