HelpAge Sri Lanka presents charity concert ‘Symphony of Hope’
View(s):Some of Sri Lanka’s most celebrated artistes – Sohan Weerasinghe, Annesley Malewana, Mariazelle Gunathilake, Ashanthi De Alwis, Judy De Silva, Keerthi Pasquel, Falan Andrea, Damien Wickramasinghe and Rukshan Perera will come together on Friday, May 23, for HelpAge Sri Lanka’s special charity concert `Symphony of Hope’ in aid of the HelpAge Sri Lanka Charity Eye Hospital.
This family-friendly musical evening that will showcase a vibrant mix of Sinhala and English music . The concert at the Musaeus College Auditorium at 7.30 p.m. will not only entertain, but also raise awareness about cataract-related preventable blindness—an alarming condition that continues to affect the elderly population across Sri Lanka.
The artistes will be joined by the versatile band Aroh, promising an unforgettable evening of entertainment compered by Kumar de Silva.
The HelpAge Sri Lanka Eye Hospital located at Sinsapa Road Wellawatte, plays a crucial role in providing free cataract surgeries to needy elderly citizens, with over 52,000 surgeries completed since its inception in 2009. Each surgery costs Rs. 25,000.
