View(s):Sombr’s ‘Undressed’ Climbs into UK Top 10
The US teenage artist making waves in Europe these days is Sombr. The New York born youngster’s breakout anthem ‘Undressed’ is the only song that made it to the UK top 10 singles chart this week. With its captivating, mellow sound, the indie pop song debuted on the chart seven weeks ago at 65. It made a big climb and, since then, has moved upward without a hitch. This week, ‘Undressed’ advanced from 13 to No.6. The song is produced by Tony Berg. Nineteen year old Sombr whose actual name is Shane Boose self- penned Undressed’. Meanwhile, Sombr will tour Europe and North America between 25th May and 28th October, commencing in Dublin, Ireland and ending in Los Angeles, US.
Madonna Plans Netflix Series with Canadian Filmmaker
Reports have emerged that Madonna has teamed up with Canadian filmmaker Shawn Levy for a limited series about her life that will stream on Netflix. The project is different to the biopic that has been planned for a long time with Universal Studios. The new limited series is believed to be in early stages.
Sophie Ellis-Bextor Announces New Album and Launch Party
Sophie Ellis-Bextor, who is famous for the No.1 song ‘Groove Jet (This Ain’t Love)’ featuring Spiller in 2000 and the universal hit ‘Murder On the Dance Floor’ from 2001, is to release her eighth album ‘Perimeopop’ on September 12. The 46 year old artist has just released the single ‘Taste’ in collaboration with MNEK. Ellis-Bexter is having a major launch party at London’s KOKO on September 8.
Suzanne Vega Wore Bulletproof Vest at 1989 Glastonbury
Suzanne Vega has revealed for the first time that she was advised by Scotland Yard against performing at the Glastonbury music festival in 1989. The singer and her bass guitarist had received death threats on the morning of her performance. As she insisted on proceeding with her set, a bulletproof vest was provided, which she eventually wore. In 1978, Vega had two huge hit songs, ‘Luka’ and ‘Tom’s Diner’. Meanwhile, in a social media post, Suzanne Vega announced that Jon Gordon, who played the guitar solo on her hit ‘Luka’, died on 5th May after a long illness.
The Script’s Danny O’Donoghue Marries Long-Time Partner
Danny O’Donoghue, 44, the co-leader of the Irish band The Script, has married his long-time French-born girlfriend Anais Niag, 31, on 8th May in London. Danny has penned The Script’s two most famous hit songs, ‘Hall Of Fame’ and ‘Superheroes’.
