The state ceremony for anointing oil for the upcoming Sinhala Tamil new year will be held at Matale, Rathtota Ganethanna Raja Maha Vihara, at 09.04 am Wednesday, April 16, 2025, Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs stated.

“Every arrangement is set in place to have the national oil anointing ceremony at Matale, under the full involvement of the Ministry,” Deputy Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs, Gamage Dissanayake said.
