Dinesh and Chamindu lead HNB ‘B’ to victory

View(s): Half-centuries from Dinesh Panditharatne and Chamindu Wijesinghe guided HNB ‘B’ to a comfortable 7-wicket win over Dialog Axiata in the final of the MCA Division ‘F’ Cricket Tournament at the MCA ground yesterday. Dialog Axiata, batting first, were boosted by a solid knock of 55 from Sithum Silva, setting a total of 142 for 9.
In response, HNB ‘B’ chased down the target with ease, with Dinesh scoring 52 off 56 balls, including two boundaries and three sixes, and Chamindu contributing a quick, unbeaten 50 off 48 balls with four boundaries and a six. The pair shared an important 82-run partnership for the third wicket, reaching the target in the 21st over.
