PNS SAIF departs after successful visit to Colombo

Pakistan Navy Ship “SAIF” departed from the Port of Colombo after a successful three-day goodwill visit from January 30 to February 1. The ship was given a traditional farewell by the Sri Lanka Navy.

During her stay, Captain Muhammad Ali PN, Commanding Officer of the ship called on the Commander Western Naval Area. Pakistan Navy officers and men visited various Sri Lanka Navy units, and training facilities. They participated in the friendly sports meets arranged by the Sri Lanka Navy. SLN Officers and men visited PNS SAIF and the interaction resulted in an exchange of professional knowledge on matters of mutual interest, the Pakistan High Commission says.

A highlight of PNS SAIF visit was a cake-cutting ceremony followed by, a dinner reception displaying traditional Pakistani hospitality, hosted onboard PNS SAIF on January 31.

Welcoming the guests, Captain Muhammad Ali said that Pakistan and Sri Lanka have strong ties and both navies engage in multilayered cooperation.  The visit is a manifestation of the strong diplomatic, economic, cultural, and defence relations between the two friendly countries and is aimed at further strengthening these existing bonds.

Acting High Commissioner Wajid Hassan Hashmi said bilateral relations between the two nations and the two armed forces are exemplary and expressed his resolve to fortify them with each passing day.
