50 greatest paintings in art history at Sky Gallery
View(s):The Fareed Uduman Art Forum’s first exhibition for the new year showcases the works of the world’s greatest painters. Last year, Vincent Van Gogh and Paul Gauguin were exclusively featured in separate and immensely successful exhibitions.
‘Masterpieces Unveiled’ that opens next week at the Sky Gallery is a carefully curated exhibition of the 50 greatest paintings, seen through museum quality canvas prints framed in the exact sizes of the originals painted by these great artists. ‘Masterpieces Unveiled’ is not just an exhibition; it’s a celebration of human creativity. A testament to the enduring power of art, to transcend time, and connect us across centuries.
Visitors will have the rare opportunity to see paintings from the 15th to the 20th Century that have left an indelible mark upon the world of art. Exhibits include works by Da Vinci, Van Gogh, Botticelli, Munch, Monet, Matisse, Boucher, Degas, Cezanne, Gauguin, Rembrandt, Vermeer, Caravaggio, Goya, Delacroix, Renoir, Klimt and Rousseau. The masterpieces include, “Mona Lisa”, “The Scream”, “American Gothic”, “Sleeping Gypsy”, “The Great Wave off Kanagawa”, “The Card Players”, “The Tower of Babel”, “Starry Night” and “The Kiss”.
Jomo Uduman, founder of the FU Art Forum, says their mission is to make the beauty of art accessible to everyone, to inspire, and to ignite a love for creativity and expression. By fostering this deeper understanding of art, the Forum seeks to empower the people of Sri Lanka to appreciate, critique and contribute to the rich tapestry of global artistic expression.
