A capacity-building programme was inaugurated at the University of Peradeniya by Central Province Governor Lalith U Gamage.

This comprises the University, the Central Provincial Council and the Regional Economic Development Agency (Reda).

The Governor remarked that simply obtaining a Degree is not enough, but development of the potential of a person, and an education that would fit into every walk of life for the development of man and country. The established form of education has to change in order to suit the country’s needs, he added.

Vice Chancellor Professor M D Lamawansa, Dean – Faculty of Management Professor Atula Ekanayake, Chief Secretary of the Council Ajith Pemasinghe, Chairman – REDA Janaka Sakalasuriya and other officials were present at the inauguration ceremony held at the Faculty of Management Auditorium.
