The worlds of abstract art and sustainable high-end fashion will collide in a dazzling display of creativity at the much-anticipated art and fashion exhibition, ‘Electric Mind’. Sri Lankan abstract artist and fashion designer Rannilu Singappulige will unveil a remarkable collection that seamlessly blends her captivating artworks with Haute-Couture fashion pieces.

Rannilu, a self-taught artist, has been involved in the world of art since a young age. Having garnered recognition and awards in various art competitions, she embarked on the journey of “Electric Mind,” an exhibition that celebrated the essence of freedom, creativity, and originality found in abstract art.

‘Electric Mind’ will be open to the public on : 17th to 19th July from 9.00AM – 5.30pm at 4th floor, no: 199, High-level Road, Nugeogoda (right next to Pizza Hut).

Her chosen medium, acrylic paint, became a gateway for Rannilu to express her innermost emotions and experiences. Each artwork conveyed a visual language that transcended the visible world, speaking directly to the soul of the viewer and evoking powerful emotions and reflections.

Accompanying the mesmerizing artworks were a series of high-end fashion pieces designed for fearless women who embrace their individuality, defying trends.

What sets Rannilu’s fashion pieces under the label “Silik Jay” apart is her unwavering commitment to sustainability and high-end fashion. Aligned with her dedication to repurposing discarded materials, she ingeniously transformed waste into wearable art. During the “Trash It” fashion competition, Rannilu created a stunning ensemble by using thousands of bottle lids. She transformed a discarded muslin dress and accessories into a striking statement, crafting a bottle lid dress. Ultimately, her innovative creation, representing both sustainable and high-end fashion, won her the competition.

Rannilu’s ingenuity was further showcased when she repurposed flex materials and discarded banners, crafting remarkable designs featuring intricate hand-painted details, laser-cut patterns, and delicate hand-stitching techniques during the “ACCA Sri Lanka Awards for Sustainability Reporting.” Through her creations, Rannilu aimed to raise awareness about the importance of repurposing and reducing waste in the fashion industry, highlighting the immense potential of sustainable high-end fashion.

‘Electric Mind’ is a significant milestone in Rannilu’s artistic journey, showcasing her unwavering determination and the transformative power of art and fashion. The exhibition not only captivated audiences but also ignited conversations about the potential of abstract art and sustainable high-end fashion to reshape the creative landscape.

This is an invitation to anyone who is ready to delve into the majestic realms of abstract art and fashion.
