Unveiling of Photographs of the Distinguish service awardees of IchemC
View(s):A ceremony to unveil the photographs of the Distinguished Service Awardees (DSA) of the Institute of Chemistry Ceylon (IChemC) was held at Adamantane House, its Headquarters on 23rd June 2023. The Institute of Chemistry Ceylon makes this prestigious award to members in recognition of their dedicated, honorary services rendered to the upliftment and progress of the IChemC over several decades.
The following members were the recipients of the DSA, namely, Mr K R Dayananda, Mr M R M Haniffa for the year 2020/2021 and Professor Priyani Paranagama for the year 2022/2023. All of them are past Presidents of the IChemC. They have also served in many other capacities over the past and are continuing to serve the IChemC todate.
The ceremony was held in the midst a large gathering of members, staff and students of IchemC. It commenced with the welcome address delivered by the President of IChemC, Mr N M S Hettigedara. This was followed by the reading of the citations of the three Distinguished Service Awardees along with a short speech by each of the awardees. The photographs were then unveiled in the Council Board room by a relative of the respective family
The vote of thanks was delivered by the President Elect, Professor Namal Priyantha.
