Young filmmaker Dananjaya Dayarathna’s film ‘Awasan Sarasuma’ has received an Honourable Mention at the 2023 Student World Impact Film Festival (SWIFF), a film festival for student all across the world.

The festival had received over 13,000 submissions from filmmakers in 120 countries this year. SWIFF is the premier platform for showcasing the artistic talent of student filmmakers from around the world. Helping more than 10,000 filmmakers from 120 countries each year, SWIFF offers filmmakers the opportunity to elevate their careers and gain exposure in the entertainment world.

Scheduled to take place during June 18 – 25, 2023, the upcoming season of SWIFF will bring together the brightest and most talented student filmmakers from around the world. Selected for Coins Film Festival in 2017, the film was nominated for the Best Director, Editor and Cinematographer awards and won the Best cinematographer non-fiction,.

It was also nominated for the Best documentary at the Sanjani Film Festival (Kelani University and it was selected for the 2023 London first filmmakers Lift off global network film festival. Directed and screenplay written by Dananjaya, director of photography is Sadaruwan Abeysingha, editor Kasun Jayaweera, sound editing Kasun Jayaweera and  it is presented by Digital Film Academy Sri Lanka Foundation.

Dananjaya’s other film ‘Gray Space’ was the officially selected for London Lift off global network film festival 2023 and it was previewed from May 1 to 15.

Director of photography is Nuwan Kumara, edited by Kasun Jayaweera, sound editing by Dilip Cotaling and cast include Koralage Saman Kumara.

‘After Frame’ director’s third film also received nominations at 2017 Nominated Coins Film Festival is played by Ushan Perera and Chathuranga Dharmapriya.

Edited by Sameera Sadaruwan, camera by Lakmal Perera, sound editor is Kasun Jayaweera, the film is presented by Digital Film Academy Sri Lanka Foundation.
