Half centuries by Diniru Abeywickramasinghe and Kushan Wijerama and a five-wicket haul from Viran Chamuditha paved the way for St. Servatius College to record a massive 157-run win against traditional rivals St. Thomas’ College in the 23rd Battle of the Blues of the South limited overs encounter played at the Uyanwatte Stadium in Matara yesterday.

Electing to bat first St. Servatius posted a modest total of 221 runs with Diniru Abeywickramasinghe hitting 64 and Kushan Wijerama stroking 58. In reply the Thomians were skittled out for 64 runs with an impressive match figure of 5 for 14 by Viran Chamuditha leading the way with the bowling attack.
