Vietnamese nun Thich Nu Dieu Xinh makes charity visit to Sri Lanka

Chief Nun, most venerable  Thich Nu Dieu Xinh of  Tinh Xa Buu Son temple in Vietnam and her pupil An Dieu visited Sri Lanka recently for charity services, having come to know the difficulties undergone by Lankans due to the prevailing economic crisis.

She distributed dry rations to 1,000 low-income families living in various parts of Sri Lanka, and provided school items and bags of food items  to school children at the Jinarathana Dhamma school, North Mulleriyawa. VenThich Nu Dieu Xinh gave a sangha dana for 50 monks and supplementary food items were also given to the monks.

Several programs were organised centering around the Abhyagiriya temple in Anuradhapura and Pandulagama. She donated a large number of gifts to school children and dry rations for elderly persons on this occasion also. Several welfare projects were carried out by the nun in the North Central Province.

Ven Thich Nu Dieu Xinh visted the cancer hospital and made donations with the courtesy of sponsor  Nguyen  Thi Thanh Dang. The nun also contributed food and school items in Ambalantota. She visited Kandy on the last day of her programme.

The Vietnam Embassy in Sri Lanka, Ambassador Ho Thi Thanh Truc facilitated this charity drive.
