Colombo International School (CIS) boys’ team captained by Druvin Ellepola won the Annual Inter-International Schools U20 Tennis Tournament, which was played at Queens Tennis Club winning by ten-points.

The champions were up against other leading international schools – Asian International School, Gateway School, British School of Colombo, Lyceum International Nugegoda and Stafford International – against whom they won based on ties, recently.

“It feels great. We worked as a team and gelled well. We fought and went unbeaten throughout the tournament. It’s an accumulation of all the hard work,” Ellepola said.

“Yes – I would say I have learnt to communicate with different players.  Especially in this tournament, I learnt I can lead. To manage my players as well. Overall, come to an effective game plan”, Ellepola, 17, added.

In the meantime, the girls’ category was won by Gateway, scoring six-points.

Captained by Tania Doloswela, the six-member team went against Asian International, Colombo and Stafford.

The tournament was organised by Asian International School.
