View(s):The Institute for the Development of Commercial Law and Practice, an organization committed to the development and dissemination of information on commercial law and its practice announces the commencement of the “Diploma in Shipping Law and Practice” conducted jointly with the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce on the 5th March 2023.
The Course is designed to enhance the knowledge of officials in the shipping industry as well as attorneys at law, to cater to the drastic growth in the shipping industry anticipated in the coming years. In an era where global maritime transport is an essential component for sustainable development, this course gives a professional approach to elevate the island nation to a legally strong modern trading and logistical hub in South Asia.
This course has a combination of lectures and a practical element through a guided port tour to the Port of Colombo and Colombo Dockyard PLC to give the students a first-hand experience.
The course is aimed at providing interested parties with compendious knowledge of shipping law and all characteristics of its practical application. ICLP will provide participants with accompanying digital presentations and expert mentors from various relevant disciplines who will provide feedback and assessment for participants. Those who have successfully completed the course, will possess a thorough knowledge of maritime and shipping law and also receive valuable Certificates/ Diplomas.
