‘A Queen Like you’: New creation from Mario for Miss Sri Lanka France

‘Miss Sri Lanka in France for Miss Europe 2022’, one of the major events in Sri Lankan calendar in France, held in Paris, France on Sunday, November 27 .
Professional Music director and singing sensation Mario Ananda was involved in the production of music and dancing and was the creator of the official theme song for the pageant, while professional dancer and actor Suraj Maapa was one of the guests of honour at the event.
‘Kumarika’ (‘A Queen Like you’) is the official theme song for ‘Miss Sri Lanka in France for Miss Europe 2022’. The song was released on Mario Ananda official Spotify prior to the pageant. This song, like many other theme songs by Mario, is also released in English and Sinhala versions. The lyrics of the English version were penned by Mario himself, while the Sinhala lyrics of ‘Manel Malindo’ were written by his beloved mother Mrs. Srima Chandrani Perera (Ananda). The music direction and vocal were done by Mario Ananda himself.
Multi-faceted young singing sensation Mario Ananda Abeykoon, the son of late Gratien Ananda, released a few of his original songs during the past two years. The song ‘Dream it On’ was released in early this year dedicated to all ‘Beauticians’ around the world.
This tribute song produced to honour the services of ‘Beauticians’ around the world, perhaps is the first of its kind in the world.
The concept, script, Visual Direction, creative editing of the music video for ‘Dream it On’ are by Mario Ananda. The director of photography is by ‘Mario Ananda Productions’. The camera was headed by Nevinda Jayasena, while makeup was handled by Yogitha Rathnayaka of ‘Mario Ananda Productions’. Assistant Director of the production is Dulanjali Ananda, CEO of ‘Mario Ananda Productions’.
His new sports related song ‘Living on the Edge’ (English) /‘Randee Nosali’ (Sinhala) was launched in April last year on ‘Mario Ananda YouTube Channel’. The song ‘Living on the Edge’ is created mainly to uplift the sports aspect of the country. Held as a charity event for years, ‘Miss Sri Lanka in France for Miss Europe 2022’ is organised by Melani Hewawasam, who won the Miss Sri Lanka in Europe 2014, Sabina Thorsen who won Miss Sri Lanka In Europe 2016 and Linda Rose, who was adjudged the Miss Sri Lanka In Europe 2018.
Proceeds from the event are to be donated to build an Intensive Care unit at the Dehiaththakandiya Hospital and to help cancer and kidney patients in Sri Lanka.
The Organizers of this project are namely, Sanath Fernando, President of France Sri Lanka Welfare Association, Dinesh Mendis and Channa Gunasekara.
Shashika Mendis and choreographer Sujeewa Janaki were the front runners in the preparation of Miss Sri Lanka in France for Miss Europe 2022’.
