“PUER NATUS EST NOBIS” – Josephian Christmas Carols
View(s):“PUER NATUS EST NOBIS “( A Child is born “ titled the Annual Josephian Christmas Carol service of St Joseph’s college,Colombo 10 was held recently at the college Rev. Fr. Stanley Abeysekera sports complex cum auditorium under the patronage of His Eminence Archbishop Rt. Rev. Dr. Brian Udaigwe, The Apostolic Nuncio of Sri Lanka.
The chief celebrant Archbishop emphasized that the true Christmas can be given a deep meaning by helping and sharing with the people living in the present world who are facing various crises without limiting each other and treating them as equals.
Rev.Fr. Ranjith Andradi, the Rector of SJC said that the love of God is specially shown to us through Christmas celebrating the birth of the Son of God, and that the love and blessings of God are given to us regularly by the Son of God. It was also emphasized that giving more likewise to our families and others is the challenge of this year’s Christmas.
On that day, the St. Cecilia choir consisting of junior and senior students of the college, Teachers and Old Jose’s choirs in Sinhala, Tamil, English, Christmas carols were sung in different languages like Latin Italian & French. College western band also performed musical item.
Rev.Fr Rector performed a special Christmas carol singing with the students.
