Kursk State Medical University which is a world recognised university in Russia, was established in the year 1935 and currently more than 500 Sri Lankan students are studying Medicine in the university while more than 1000 graduated medical practitioners work globally. Prof.Lugoniv Denise who invented the first Russian and the world’s first Vaccine against COVID 19 is a passed out graduate from Kursk State Medical University. The remarkable fact is that this is the first university in Russia to offer students a full Medical Degree in English medium and it is ranked as one of the top 10 Russian Medical Universities. The degree is recognised by SLMC, WHO, the USA, the UK, Australia and other medical bodies worldwide.

According to the Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC), the minimum requirement to start MBBS degree is two credit passes and one simple pass in GCE. Advanced Level Examination including the three main subjects; Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Registered students are offered a FREE Introductory course in Medicine and a FREE Language programme on every Sunday.
